23 Steps

Represents: Water

 

      Begin in Joonbi:

 

1.   Quarter-turn left into a low front stance; low block with left hand

2.   Straight kick with right bringing your foot all the way back so that you land in a back stance with right foot back; outward forearm block with your left hand

3.   Half-turn clockwise into a low front stance with right foot; low block with right hand

4.   Straight kick with left bringing your foot all the way back so that you land in a back stance with left foot back; outward forearm block with your right hand

5.   Quarter-turn to your left into a low front stance with left foot forward; cross knife-hand strike with right hand

6.   Round kick at a 45-degree angle with right foot, landing in a walk stance facing left with right foot forward.  Immediately, step into a low front stance with left foot; outward forearm block with left hand

7.   High punch with right hand

8.   Straight kick with right foot landing in a low front stance; high punch with left hand

9.   Half-turn clockwise into a low front stance with right foot forward; outward forearm block with right hand

10.  High punch with left hand

11.  Straight kick with left foot landing in a low front stance, high punch with right hand

12.  Quarter-turn to left so that you’re facing the front of the room, up on the balls of your feet with your feet almost together and you’ve got your hands in cross knife-hands framing your face.  Slowly, and with dynamic tension, lower your hands while closing them into fists, snapping them at your sides

13.  Step forward into a low front stance with your right foot; cross knife-hand strike with left

14.  Round kick at a 45-degree angle with your left foot, kihap, put your foot back down and continue turning clockwise three-fourths of the way around landing in a low front stance with your right foot forward; low block with your right hand

15.  Straight kick with left foot bringing it all the way back so that you land in a back stance with left foot back; outward forearm block with your right hand

16.  Half-turn counter clockwise into a low front stance with left foot forward; low block with left hand

17.  Straight kick with right foot bringing it all the way back so that you land in a back stance with right foot back; outward forearm block with your left hand

18.  Step towards the back of the room with your right foot landing in back stance, double  knife-hand blocks (right foot is back)

19.  Step back with left foot into back stance, double knife-hand blocks (left foot is back)

20.  Step back with right foot into a low front stance; middle palm block with left hand

21.  Middle punch with right hand

22.  Step back with left foot into a low front stance; middle palm block with right hand

23.  Middle punch with left  (no kihap)
